How did you get to here?
Turned left after the last challenge, got a bit bored and then went
straight to this exciting junction.
What drives you on to achieving the mission?
The thought of being first women’s 4s to ever row the Atlantic;
the beaches, food, drink and men in Antigua; playing cricket on the
beach with Brian Lara…..
Favourite parts of training so far….
Feeling fitter than ever before in my life, lifting heavy weights and
doing faster and faster times on the rowing machine and in the water!
And
least favourite…..
Not being able to fit my arms and back into any of my clothes!
What have
you learnt about yourself that you didn’t know before?
Loads…..
Always thought I could manage time so well that I would not get stressed,
take on a challenge like this and you can not escape the stress, there
is just so much to do that you can not get it all done without feeling
that you are stretched in every direction and about to snap. I have
learned that you just have to find a way to manage and keep on going.
It is amazing what your body can cope with mentally and physically.
Any fears or apprehensions?
The first few rough days will be a real test as we are bound to have
some of the crew suffering from sea sickness, I just hope we are
not all laid low at the same time!
What do you think you will miss the most during the race?
Family and friends, our beautiful islands, swimming every day! Cheese
and fruit, a long hot bath!
And miss the least?
Moaners and people who expect everything to be done for them all the
time!
What do those closest to you make of all this?
They think it is fantastic and have supported me the whole way through.
I would not be able to do it without them!
Personal Motto /words of wisdom
Carpe diem!
Do it while you can
Life is for living! |
